Michael J. Letson leads the Strategic Risk Data Analytics Team in Global Financial Crimes Compliance, which identifies financial crimes risk through human intelligence and surveillance. The team leverages analytics to proactively identify new trends and potential vulnerabilities within the Bank.  Additionally, the team develops prototypes with advanced technologies like machine learning to drive more precise and cost effective solutions.

Letson joined the Risk Data Analytics Team in 2016. Previously, he served as Audit Manager for Bank of America’s Global Financial Crimes Audit Team, where he lead the implementation of automated testing and analytics to identify control gaps, and risks associated with the financial crimes program.

Prior to serving as Audit Manager, Letson spent 11 years in a variety of roles supporting Corporate Audit by developing innovative methods for more efficient and robust testing of “big data” to target significant risk.  He has a long background in process improvement and business controls.  He has had experience covering all the major products and services offered by the franchise.

He is a graduate of Marist College and lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife and four children.
