Dennis Gallant is a senior analyst for Aite Group’s Wealth Management practice focused on advisor investment/annuity/product distribution and wholesaling, advisory services/managed accounts, financial planning and advice delivery, retirement income, advisor recruitment and retention, annuity and asset management product development, and advisor practice management. He has covered the financial advisor market for over 20 years and has specific expertise regarding independent advisors, including registered investment advisors (RIAs) and independent and insurance-affiliated broker-dealers. Mr. Gallant conducts numerous presentations, speeches, and workshops for client and industry conferences, and is often quoted in industry trade publications including WSJ, Investment News, Financial Advisor Magazine, Financial Planning, Ignites, and Institutional Investor.
Most recently Mr. Gallant managed his own consulting practice, GDC Research, providing research and consulting, including market research, competitive analysis, tactical and strategic planning, business development, and market validation, for the financial services industry. He has consulted and published numerous reports and white papers on topics such as investment product distribution/wholesaling, RIAs, retirement income, advisory trends, digital/robo-advice, wealth management, active and passive investment management, multigenerational planning, advisor recruitment and retention, advisor compensation, advisor affiliation models, broker-dealer M&A, and general advisor trends.
Prior to GDC Research, Mr. Gallant was a director at Cerulli Associates leading the firm’s Intermediary/Advisor Research, the vice president of Marketing Research for Funds Distributor Inc., where he assisted in the development of and marketed an index-based portfolio for RIAs as well as a trading software program for tactical and dynamic market timers and asset allocators. He has also held positions in mutual fund marketing and operations at The Boston Company.
Mr. Gallant holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Salem State University.
