Kurt Shreiner is one of four founding executives at Atlantic Capital, a $3.6 billion publicly traded bank headquartered in Atlanta, GA.

In addition to managing the daily operations of Atlantic Capital’s specialized lines of business – Payments and Fintech, Treasury Services, SBA Lending, and Franchise Finance – he also provides strategic thinking and recruiting expertise as the bank continues to expand into new competitive spaces nationwide.

Prior to Atlantic Capital’s founding in 2006, Kurt spent 20 years at Wachovia. He joined the organization immediately following his graduation from Washington and Lee University and rose through a succession of diverse roles that started with Commercial Banker and ended with Managing Director of Continental Europe.

Over the course of his career, he has developed a focus on finding creative opportunities for businesses to grow within previously unexplored markets. His years at Wachovia saw him establish new branches and offices in France, Germany, and the U.K., experiences which he feels have provided him a global perspective on management and leadership.

Having grown up in a small town in Pennsylvania, with parents who both owned small businesses, Kurt believes in the importance of maintaining an entrepreneurial approach to the banking profession. He has worked hard at Atlantic Capital to build a community-driven environment that supports a wide range of backgrounds and viewpoints.

He is particularly proud of the team he and his co-founders have created at Atlantic Capital, and he finds the biggest reward to be sharing the successes and challenges with people he cares about. When not at work, he enjoys fishing, sports, reading, and spending time with his wife, Elizabeth.
