Jay DesMarteau is the Head of Commercial Distribution at TD Bank. In this role, Jay works to expand the Bank’s customer base and leads its U.S. Small Business Administration Lending Group, Restaurant Franchise Finance Group, Healthcare Practice Solutions Group and Treasury Management and Merchant Solutions teams as well as the Small Business Specialist team and Outbound Lead Generation team. These sales teams, along with TD Bank’s product and credit partners, provide focused product and industry expertise to TD’s Commercial Bank customers. Under Jay’s leadership, these teams account for approximately 20% and 50% of the Commercial Bank’s loan and deposit balances, respectively.

Prior to joining TD Bank, Jay spent three years with CIT Group as the President of Equipment Finance and as the Chief Sales Officer of Commercial Finance. Jay was responsible for growing a $40 billion commercial loan book in a variety of loan products and markets.

Jay began his career at General Electric, where he worked for 16 years. He held a number of roles there in Sales, Sales Management, Strategic Marketing, Six Sigma Quality, Information Technology and Corporate Audit.

Jay holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management from Purdue University and an MBA from Duke University.
