Description

Goals-based investing has grown phenomenally popular among wealth managers in recent years and has emerged as a viable alternative to traditional approaches to asset allocation. While some firms have done little more than dress traditional asset allocation methodologies in goals-based clothing, a number of leading firms are using goals-based investing to engage in a radical rethink of how they build portfolios and how their advisors interact with clients. The experience of these firms holds valuable lessons for other wealth managers as well as vendors active in the space. This panel will discuss:

  • The impact of goals-based investing on client relationship management
  • Where goals-based investing benefits clients and where it does not
  • Challenges in retooling advisors and portfolio managers to use goals-based approaches
