Dean Henry is managing director and head of Innovation in Global Transaction Services (GTS) at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In this role, Dean is responsible for designing and driving the execution of innovation initiatives aimed at building the transaction bank of the future. The Innovation group focuses on uncovering future competitive advantages by harnessing emerging technologies, partnering and potentially investing in disruptive companies and incubating new client-driven solutions that capitalize on the increasingly digitized and networked global marketplace. Additionally, Henry oversees the bank’s award-winning B2B payments solution, Digital Disbursements.
Prior to assuming his current position in April 2017, Henry was head of Global High Volume Payments where he led the US ACH, disbursements, and digital payments product management teams that provide high volume payment solutions for corporate and financial institution clients.
Previously, Henry led product innovation for Global Payments in GTS where he was responsible for generating, evaluating, selecting and driving enterprise-wide strategic payments initiatives. Prior to that, Henry worked for Bank of America’s consumer bank where he led strategic and market/revenue analysis for emerging mobile/online commerce capabilities.
Earlier in his career, Henry founded and managed the acquisition of a start-up that created a digital price-comparison market for consumer home and auto insurance. Henry was also a digital strategy consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc.
Henry holds a BA from Colby College, an MS from The Johns Hopkins University – Carey Business School, and an MBA from Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management.
