A massive coalescence is happening in payments, driven by the globalization of e-commerce. Organizations such as Rakuten, Etsy, Alibaba, and Amazon are increasingly attracting customers and generating sales across the globe. Alternative payment schemes are challenging traditional payment formats, and merchants increasingly demand that they be able to accept any payment type from any consumer in any market.
