Speaker Bio
Lance Homer is the Global Head of Digital Payments and Banking Ecosystem at Equinix, the world’s digital infrastructure company. He has over 25 years in the retail and financial service industries both on the technology and business side. The last 14 years, Lance has been building interconnected financial ecosystems around the world in Equinix, which now has over 1250 financial services companies including over 350 banks and 250 payment companies. In this role, Lance helps card networks, payment processors, financial institutions, fintech companies and other ecosystem participants with their hybrid multi-cloud deployments all around the world.

Before joining Equinix, Lance was a VP at the financial technology company, NYFIX. At NYFIX, Lance had responsibilities over data center and network procurement which gave him the knowledge to help Equinix’s financial services customers architect their digital transformation.

Lance began his experience in payments in the early 90’s while he was still in college by migrating all of Albertson’s stores’ payment systems from dial-up to a frame-relay network. His knowledge of the retail space was then utilized by Inter-Act systems to deliver targeted offers to loyalty cards holders in a seamless checkout process. Lance has been an innovator in the payment space by inventing the method for extracting, collecting, and reconciling customer level data behind the Priceline WebHouse card. After this role, he then was recruited to Benton Consulting as a payments consultant.

He is a graduate of the University of Utah’s Law School and has B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Brigham Young University.
