Joe Lain is currently the VP of Commercial Services at Central Freight Lines. Joe has a long career in all facets of shared services and order to cash in a multitude of industries, including Oil & Gas, Distribution, Manufacturing, and Transportation. In his current responsibility, Joe’s oversight is inclusive of all aspects of Billing, Rate audit, Corrections, Credit and Collections, Cash Application, Coding, Onboarding activities, Claims prevention and Underwriting. He has spent approximately 25% of his career in asset-based lending, managing the credit underwriting and collections aspects of finance in the heavy construction, over the road trucking and premium coach industries. Joe has a long history of successful implementation and deployment of OTC SaaS technology in enterprise applications at multiple companies. He has also provided leadership for intra-company technology enhancements for order entry and customer service applications that resulted in improved efficiencies and budgetary costs.
Joe specializes in continuous improvement opportunities and has a proven background of successfully identifying and creating solutions for waste in procedures and processes within the cross functional departments he has overseen. He has successfully deployed credit scorecard and employee productivity scorecards for collections teams throughout his career, always embracing technology and business intelligence to produce improved reporting and efficient onboarding functions. Joe has been instrumental in improving cash flow from receivables, reducing bad debt exposure, and creating an environment that stresses the importance of first invoice accuracy.
Joe is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with a BS in Finance and a Christian Ministries degree from East Texas Baptist University. Joe has been married for 24 years (to his amazing wife Kristina) and currently has two daughters ( Katelyn & Courtney) attending the University of North Texas.
