Wealth Management in Transition: European and North American Marketplaces
The global wealth management industry has been challenged in 2020. The current pandemic has resulted in an unprecedented global lockdown and record-breaking levels of market volatility amid major regulatory shifts around the globe. Wealth management firms and private banks had to abruptly pivot their sales, investment, and operational processes vis-a-vis executing higher business volume and maintaining operational efficiency in an environment of social distancing—from both clients and colleagues. Firms now have no choice but to rededicate their focus to demonstrating value, ensuring stakeholders’ best interests, accelerating digitization, and recruiting and training staff smartly. Many wealth management firms have missed the opportunity to invest steadily and regularly into modernizing their firms’ business models and front-to-back technology capabilities over the years. Aite Group research indicates that firms that have done so have been vindicated and are, in fact, pulling well ahead of competition during these difficult times.
Aite Group’s Wealth Management in Transition event is designed to bring executives from leading global wealth management firms together to discuss central topics that are reshaping this industry and to share their experiences on this journey. The two-day event will center on Redefining Client Engagement in Europe on day one (October 21) and shift to The Move to Advice in North America on day two (October 22).
