Payments are disappearing into social media platforms, consumer and business marketplaces, and apps and games, and consumers are starting to make purchases in the virtual worlds of the metaverse. There are opportunities for financial institutions to generate incremental revenue and new customers by supporting merchants and services where customers are going now and where they will be in the future. This session will discuss payments’ path into emerging consumer technologies and identify opportunities for financial institutions to create new experiences for their customers.
